BBC My World Winner
A beautiful and moving film that creates a bleak poetry around one of the great and unecessary evils of a civilised society - unemployment.
Inspired by Inspired Coach
Neil Kirby is an exceptional coach; one of the few to achieve a distinction in our Inspired Coach programme.
Neil has just published a magical little book which was inspired by a simple - and powerful - exercise that we facilitated during Inspired Coach. Participants are encouraged to relate a metaphorical story that illustrates a challenge they are facing. Neil's story took on a life of its own and became The Scarecrow's Song.
The Charter for Compassion
A call to bring the world together…
The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put another there, and to honour the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect.
Well that's simple enough ...
There are only two feelings. Love and fear.
There are only two languages. Love and fear.
There are only two activities. Love and fear.
There are only two motives. Love and fear.
There are only two results. Love and fear.
Metaphor for healing
For most of my adult life I have been advocating the miraculous power of metaphor - and language generally - to transform many things: emotional state, achievement of goals, group and team performance, leadership effectiveness and health and wellbeing.
I am part of a lost generation
... and I refuse to believe that I can change the world.
Is it possible to make the world a happy place?
This question came out of the blue at a seminar I was facilitating last week.
Maybe it is one of the most important questions facing our world and it is going to be one of the most challenging journeys to find the answers.
